Bale, Croatia

Maja and Simon have chosen Vila Lav as a location of their perfect wedding. It is situated in Bale which are in vicinity of famous Rovinj. The fact that also famous Croatian singer Severina got married in this venue tells us that this location indeed is very special. In Croatia there is a custom that only church ceremony is placed in the program of a wedding day so Maja and Simon did their civil marriage a week before in Rijeka.

Bale are idilic Istrian village buil of Istrian stone. Narrow paved streets were perfect for pre wedding photo shoot of Maja and Simon. And because Rovinj is Maja’s favourite city we also took a walk through it.

Unfortunately not everything was strewn with roses. Same as at Severina’s wedding also at Maja’s and Simon’s the weather forecast was cataclysmic. All weather reports were forecasting strong rain and thunderstorms and anyone could knew that this wedding can’t be at open air. You know what every groom in the wold says: “I did everything but I cannot fix weather.” Well Simon took a step further and did more than any other groom.  He called a local meteorologist and he told him that there will be thunderstorms all over Istria but Bale will stay dry!

So that’s how Simon decided that he will do the wedding on open air. He ordered an extra tent for the band and forged a plan B in case the meteorologist was wrong. But he wasn’t. The weather was sunny and the wedding was perfect!
